Rise of the Planet of the Apes (originally titled Caesar and Rise of the Apes) is an upcoming 2011 American science fiction film. The film is directed byRupert Wyatt. It is a reboot of the Planet of the Apes series that will act as a foundation with an origin story for a new film series. Will Rodman (James Franco) is a scientist, currently residing in San Francisco, who is working on a cure for Alzheimer's Disease by performing tests on apes. Caesar learns unbelievably well, but human authority orders him to be locked up. Thousands of apes begin to foment revolution. Soon, war breaks out between humans and apes. Rodman may be the only one able to stop them before the ape revolution ends with the apes succeeding, humanity being driven to extinction, and apes becoming the most dominant species on Earth. Frieda Pinto and John Lithgow joined the cast on June 22, 2010. It's not a continuation of the other films; it's an original story. It does satisfy the people who enjoy those films. Caesar is a revolutionary figure who will be talked about by his fellow apes for centuries... I imagine the next film will be about the all-out war between the apes and humans".
